Plans submitted to upgrade plant equipment at Aldi supermarket

Jun 17, 2023

Plans to upgrade plant equipment at an Erskine supermarket have been submitted to Renfrewshire Council.

Aldi is looking for permission for the works at its store in the town, which forms part of the Bridgewater Shopping Centre.

Avison Young, the agent company working on its behalf, presented a cover letter in support of the application.

It said: “Our client proposes the replacement and upgrading of the existing plant at their Erskine store to improve the sustainability and efficiency of the building.

“This is designed to reduce the store’s carbon footprint and future-proof its operation.

“The store is located in an area of mixed commercial uses and the proposal is considered to represent only a minor change to the existing store.

“As a result, there would not be any impact on the amenity of existing occupiers.

“We consider that the proposals are consistent with the development plan.

“As such, we trust the application can be approved in due course.”

A decision will be made on the application at a later date.
